The Athens Messenger reports that Athens County resident Christopher Breeze is among the recipients of scholarships from the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio for the 2013-14 academic year. Breeze plans to study in the Ohio University College of Arts & Sciences with the Class of 2017.
Breeze and Carter each received a Lee Beckett Legacy Scholarship, and both plan to attend Ohio University. The scholarship is presented annually to Nelsonville-York graduating seniors. Beckett was a teacher for 43 years, with her first position at the former York High School. This year, the scholarships were presented by Beckett herself.
