More than 50 undergraduate and graduate students in Biological Sciences presented their original research at Ohio University’s 2019 Student Research & Creativity Expo.
Of those, more than 20 students received either first or second place in the judging competition.

Graduate student Kira Slepchenko received a place second ribbon for her poster aiming to understand if beta cells that malfunction in diabetic patients are different in amount and subcellular distribution of iron.

Sal Gomez, an undergraduate student, placed second for his research that focuses on the study of CLIC5 and Radixin, proteins that are linked to the development of deafness in mice.
