Ohio University alum Blake Kozak ’08 has been a principal analyst in Smart Home and Security Technology at IHS Markit in Denver since 2015.
Zozak earned a B.A. in Political Science-Public Administration from the College of Arts & Sciences at Ohio University.

Blake Kozak is a Principal Analyst for the Security Technology Group at IHS Markit. Blake is responsible for all research across the smart home which includes business models, platforms, devices, consumer video and competitive analysis. Since joining IHS Markit in 2008, he has authored numerous syndicated reports and intelligence services on intruder alarms, electronic physical access control, Access Control as a Service (ACaaS), perimeter security and residential security. Blake is also a regular speaker at industry events.
Before joining IHS Markit, Blake helped oversee Ohio University’s access control system and interned with a US Congressional leader in order to conduct research on healthcare and other initiatives. Blake earned his BA – Phi Beta Kappa – in Public Policy from Ohio University.
