Scott Owens
Ohio University alum Scott Owens ’84 was featured in a North Carolina newspaper article headlined “First Friday With A Local Author, Scott Owens.”
Owens earned a B.A. in English from the Honors Tutorial College at Ohio University.
Hickory – Community members are invited to the library to meet a local author every month at noon on the first Friday of each month. Local authors will share information about themselves, explain their path to getting their work(s) published, read aloud excerpts, and answer questions. You are welcome to bring your own lunch to eat during this program.
On Friday, January 4, 2019 at 12pm, we will meet local poet Scott Owens. Owens holds degrees from Ohio University, UNC Charlotte, and UNC Greensboro. He is Professor of Poetry at Lenoir Rhyne University, former editor of Wild Goose Poetry Review and Southern Poetry Review. He owns and operates Taste Full Beans Coffeehouse and Gallery and coordinates Poetry Hickory.
