Ohio University alum Dr. Mac Burgess, spoke on campus Nov. 30 about “Experiential Learning in the Sustainable Food and Bioenergy Systems Program at Montana State University.”

Burgess, who earned an M.S. in Environmental Studies from the College of Arts & Sciences Ohio University in 2006, is Assistant Professor of Plant Sciences & Plant Pathology at Montana State University. He is also the director of the university’s Towne’s Harvest Garden, a student-run vegetable farm.

Ohio University students and faculty gathered to learn from Burgess’ experiences with agriculture and sustainable food research and education at Montana State University.

For Ohio University Food Studies students, this lecture was especially exciting, as two former Food Studies theme students and Food Matters Club executive members returned to Athens and made an appearance at the lecture.
