Voinovich Lunch and Learn | Flint, Mich. – Lessons Learned for Water Management, Oct. 19

The Voinovich School Lunch and Learn features Voinovich School Professional Fellow Mike Zimmer with a presentation on “Flint, Mich. – Lessons Learned for Water Management” on Friday, Oct. 19, at noon at The Ridges in Building 22 Room 221.

This presentation will focus on the Russ College of Engineering & Technology sponsored research conducted in 2017 on Flint, Mich., tapping into environmental, public policy and engineering lessons for future water management. This research created a case study that relied upon a socioeconomic, engineering , ethical and legal review of the Flint water case to understand how this crisis could develop in the United States. Trends were assessed for the environmental and engineering community regarding future prospects for similar crises to occur. A review of lessons learned and challenges for the future will be discussed, including an assessment of ethical questions arising as a matter of public policy and engineering support for such water management crises.

All staff, faculty and students, both graduate and undergraduate are invited. Pizza is provided; bring your own water bottle.
