Young explorers in forest using a magnifying glass and studying mushrooms
Come explore The Ridges and search for plants, animals and fungi on Saturday, April 28, at BioBlitz on The Ridges 2018.
“We will spend a few hours outside looking for all the species we can find,” says Charlene Hopkins with the Ohio University Biological Sciences Graduate Society. “You may arrive anytime between 9 and 11 a.m. and will be assigned to a team, then your naturalist leader will lead you to an area where you will spend about 1 to 1.5 hours searching.
“Everyone is invited! Families, students, everyone, as all participants will be on teams with a leader that will help you search and learn about the biodiversity in OHIO’s backyard,” Hopkins adds.
Please park at the Kennedy Museum and sign in at the registration table by the museum doors. Refreshments and snacks will be available at the registration table. Feel free to bring along binoculars, cameras, magnifying glasses, and field guides to help in the search.
