Little Professor bookstore is hosting Ohio University alum and English instructor Dr. David Wanczyk, where he will sign copies of his book, Beep: Inside the Unseen World of Baseball for the Blind. The event takes place on Wednesday, April 4, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Readers and reviewers are praising Wanczyk’s forthright, detailed analysis of the sport. See “Book on Baseball for the Blind Debuts on Opening Day.”
“He eschews clichés about athletes overcoming adversity in favor of warts-and-all accounts of the often-obsessive characters who play the game,” says Joe Blundo, of The Columbus Dispatch.
Copies of Beep will be available for purchase at the April 4 signing.
Wanczyk is Editor of New Ohio Review and Coordinator for Special Programs in the English Department. He earned an M.A. and Ph.D. in Creative Writing from the College of Arts & Sciences.
