Students enrolled in Human Anatomy take advantage of the excellent learning environment in the newly renovated Biological Sciences anatomy teaching lab.
Thanks to funding from the College of Arts & Sciences, the Biological Sciences Department is now able to offer human and vertebrate anatomy laboratories for both undergraduate and graduate students in a state-of-the-art facility in the Central Classroom Building.
The room is equipped with a separate air handling system that improves student safety by increasing air flow and maintaining cooler temperatures throughout the year. Should the air system shut down for any reason an alarm sounds and students can vacate the lab.
The room is also equipped with down-draft dissection tables that further enhance student safety and create a more effective learning environment. The renovations also provided Biological Sciences with much-needed storage rooms for laboratory specimens.

Another component to providing quality instruction in Biology teaching labs is the availability of up-to-date equipment such as microscopes.
Recently, the College of Arts & Sciences invested in purchasing new microscopes that are used in several courses including: BIOS 4300 Marine Invertebrate Lecture and Lab, BIOS 3620 Forensic Biology, and BIOS 4310 Aquatic Biology
