Abstract: The development of high accuracy and scientific GPS applications has benefited from several radio telescopes, including the Arecibo radio
telescope to characterize propagation through the ionosphere, the HAARP radio telescope to experiment with controlled ionospheric scintillation, the Green Bank telescope to characterize GPS signal distortions, as well as several smaller, local telescopes for detailed signal measurements. Most recently, we are experimenting with telescopes to transfer precise time and frequency from the Crab Nebula Pulsar in support of a NASA program for timing and deep space navigation.
