Transfer students should consider taking their foreign language courses as soon as possible.
The College of Arts & Sciences has a foreign language requirement for graduation. Students in Bachelor of Arts programs are required to meet the 2120 level in a foreign language, and Bachelor of Science programs require the 1120 level in a foreign language. Often, transfer students may not have been required to take a foreign language at their previous institution. Because of this, students may come to Ohio University needing up to two years of a foreign language. Don’t put this off until the last minute!
If you have not already taken a foreign language, please complete a foreign language placement. This will let you know what level of a language to begin your requirement. Once you’ve been placed, plan to take your foreign language as soon as possible so you have plenty of time to complete it prior to graduation.
