The Environmental and Plant Biology Colloquium Series presents Anthony Scardina on “The complexity of fulfilling the multiple-use mandate on National Forests in a Democratic society” Friday, Feb. 2, at 11:50 a.m. in Porter Hall 104.
Scardina is the Forest Supervisor at Wayne National Forest, under the US Forest Service.
Abstract: The Forest Supervisor of the Wayne National Forest will provide a brief history of national forest management in the United States to provide context for today’s complexities of fulfilling the USDA Forest Service’s multiple-use mandate. The presentation will also cover the wide-range of today’s challenges and demands on the Wayne National Forest and how land managers prioritize and balance these issues.
