The Annual Awards Ceremony for the Sociology & Anthropology Department at Ohio University was held April 7, 2017. After opening remarks by Sociology Professor and Department Chair Chris Mattley, Associate Dean of Arts and Sciences and Professor of Sociology Dr. Laurie Hatch addressed the audience.
Bryttani Barker,’14 Sociology-Criminology and ’15M, and Erica Andrews,’12 Anthropology, were invited to speak about their career paths and how a degree in Sociology-Criminology and Anthropology helped shape their paths.

Outstanding Graduating Seniors
Following the speakers, the Department honored the Outstanding Graduating Seniors for each discipline. The Outstanding Graduating Senior for Anthropology was Theresa Fish.
The Sociology Outstanding Graduating Senior was Aaron Eifler and Lillia Sammler was recognized as the Sociology-Criminology Outstanding Graduating Senior.
Engagement Award
Tanner Jenkins was recognized as the Sociology-Criminology Engagement Award recipient and Casey Csipke was the award recipient for Anthropology.

The Fulbright Award recipient for Anthropology HTC was Sasha Estrella-Jones and Claire Seid was recognized as the Sociology HTC Fulbright Award recipient.
