On February 21, Claudia González-Vallejo, Associate Professor of Psychology, gave a talk entitled “Understanding Nutrition Judgments of Packaged Foods” at the University of Chicago. González-Vallejo was invited to speak as part of the Booth School of Business’s Winter 2017 Marketing Workshop.
The presentation grew out of an article González-Vallejo co-authored with OHIO alum Bethany D. Lavins (’13) and advisee Kristina A. Carter. The article, “Analysis of nutrition judgments using the Nutrition Facts Panel,” was published in October 2016 in Appetite. González-Vallejo and her co-authors used Brunswik’s lens model as a framework for understanding nutrition beliefs and food choices.
González-Vallejo’s areas of research include social judgment and behavioral decision making. She is currently accepting new graduate students.
