As part of America’s Recycle Day, the Zero Waste Initiative at the OHIO Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs is helping to raise awareness about zero waste efforts on campus and around the community from Saturday, Nov. 12, through Friday, Nov. 18, during the second Annual Zero Waste Awareness Week at Ohio University.
Through numerous projects, the Zero Waste Initiative works with Campus Recycling, the Office of Sustainability, the Athletics Department, Rural Action, ReUse Industries, the Sugar Bush Foundation and other partners to increase recycling and waste diversion efforts.
Saturday, Nov 12:
- 3rd Annual Appalachian Ohio ReUse Competition – Exhibition and Awards Event, hosted by ReUse Industries (noon, Hocking College)
- OHIO Bobcats Basketball Game vs. Southern University (2 p.m., Convocation Center)
- 2nd Annual Zero Waste Celebration, hosted by Rural Action (5 p.m., Hocking College) – Registration free, but required – spaces limited!
