As part of the Critical Resistance Theme: Struggles for Access to Justice, the Students for Law, Justice & Culture announces a Struggles for Access to Justice in Appalachia Panel on Nov. 17 at 5 p.m. in Baker 231.
The Students for Law, Justice & Culture, in collaboration with the Center for Law, Justice & Culture, welcomes students, faculty, and community members to attend our first panel of the year.
The panel will feature a number of outstanding professors with expertise in Appalachia including:
- Dr. Geoffrey Buckley (Geography)—Resource Extraction and Environmental Concerns
- Dr. Stephen Scanlan (Sociology & Anthropology)—Poverty and Environmental Justice
- Dr. Rachel Terman (Sociology & Anthropology)—Social Identity and Location
- Dr. Art Trese (Environmental & Plant Biology)—Food Access and the Environment
Refreshments will be provided. This event is hosted by the Students for Law, Justice & Culture, the Center for Law, Justice, & Culture, and the Making & Breaking the Law theme.
