The Psychology Colloquium Series presents Dr. Zlatan Krizan on “Rested and Restrained: How and Why Sleep Matters for Self-Control” on Friday, April 22, at 11:50 a.m. in Porter 102.
Krizan is Associate Professor of Psychology at the Iowa State University. He earned a Ph.D. from the University of Iowa in 2007.
Abstract: Krizan’s research is broadly concerned with how people perceive and judge themselves, their futures, and their social environments. He is specifically interested in how social comparisons play into such perceptions and how the immediate social context influences psychological processes underlying social judgments. He also directs the Sleep, Self, and Personality Laboratory, which examines how self-consciousness interplays with social behavior, self-regulation, and sleep.
