Learn about forest ecology, invasive species, and see a diverse selection of forest plants in their spring glory at the first official Plant Biology Graduate Student Association garlic mustard pull on Sunday, April 10, from 1-4 p.m.

Where and when: Blue Ash Valley, behind the Hampton Inn on East State Street. (Transportation will be provided.)

The rain date is April 24.

“Garlic mustard (Alliaria petiolata) is a plant from Europe that colonizes forests in North America. It competes with native forest species and poses a serious threat to forest community diversity, including some of our most beloved wildflowers. We will be removing the plants by hand to help prevent a population from spreading,” says Marion Andrews Holmes, Ph.D. student in Environmental & Plant Biology.

Because we will be working in sensitive forest sites, space is limited and pre-registration is required. Please RSVP to mh201611@ohio.edu to register. “Feel free to email me with questions!” says Homes.
