“I’m going on my fifth year teaching sociology at North Central State College,” says Ohio University alum Toni Brown-Crump ’10M, who recently received her acceptance letter to West Virginia University‘s new Sociology Ph.D. program.
“My most recent work endeavor was getting all of our Intro to Soc classes switched over to a peer reviewed online textbook, and developing all the ancillaries, so our students get their textbook for free! That was a very fulfilling task.”
At North Central, “I also develop new sociology courses for them and help keep up our online standards for Quality Matters,” says Brown-Crump, who graduated with a master’s in Sociology in 2010 from the College of Arts & Sciences.
“In my personal life, I got married and started a farm. I also am now an ordained minister and listed as a GLBT friendly clergy in Ohio and West Virginia, and I’m available through the Veterans Affairs Department as chaplain to military veterans and family nationwide,” she says.
“I’m still active with the humane society, and we also now donate from our produce and eggs to local food banks,” she adds. “I’m very happy in life. I hope my cohort buddies that started with me in 2008 are doing great!”
