The Sun News reported July 8 that Ohio University alum Justin Herdman ’96, who majored in Global Studies in the College of Arts & Sciences, has been appointed to the Village Council in Chagrin Falls:
CHAGRIN FALLS — Assistant U.S. Attorney Justin Herdman has been selected to fill the Village Council vacancy created by Michael Chess’ recent departure.
Chess, who was serving his first two-year term on council, announced in May his family would be moving to Moreland Hills. His resignation was effective June 10.
Herdman was one of seven individuals to apply for the position, according to council President Pro Tem Janis Evans. He is expected to be sworn-in at council’s July 8 meeting.
A member of the Ohio University Class of 1996, Herdman is a 2001 graduate of Harvard Law School. He served as an intelligence officer in the U.S. Navy Reserve from 2003-2010, and currently serves as a Deputy Staff Judge Advocate for the U.S. Air Force Reserve.
