With Dad’s Weekend quickly approaching, remember that relationships with your family members will change, regardless of what your family structure looks like. Sometimes it will be frustrating, sometimes you will relate to them as an adult (and find it a bit weird but reassuring), and sometimes it will be really great. The important thing to remember is that you’ve both gone through changes while you’ve been away. Keep dialogue open about how you’ve changed, what your life goals are, and the experiences you’ve been having. Sharing parts of your life and having these conversations can help them to understand you better and help you to clarify who you are.
