Classics Faculty Present, Meet Alumni at Conference

Dr. James Andrews, Associate Professor of Classics and World Religions at Ohio University, gave a talk on “Sophia kai episteme … kratiston: Protagoras on Knowledge and the Virtues” at the annual meeting of the Classical Association of the Middle West and South on March 26 in Boulder, CO.

At the same conference, Dr. Neil Bernstein, Professor of Classics and World Religions, presented “Comparative Rates of Text Reuse in Classical Latin Hexameter Poetry.”

The professors met up with alums David Riesbeck ’05, who is now a Postdoctoral Fellow at Rice University; Rachel Thomas ’14, a graduate student at Oxford University; and Morgan Grey ’03, a Greek and Latin teacher in Colorado Springs. In the background to the right of Andrews is Ben Hicks, who taught in the Department in 2011, and to his right one of David’s Dartmouth students, Lea Schroeder.
