History student C.J. Fogarty has announced he’s running for Athens City Council, reports the Athens News.
A second Ohio University student has announced his intention to run as a Republican for an at-large Athens City Council seat this year.
C.J. Fogarty, 19, announced Tuesday that he will seek to run in the May primary election. Fogarty, from Cleveland, is a second-year student majoring in history.
Fogarty said Tuesday that he hopes to institute change as a student Republican running for election for City Council; each seat on Council is currently held by non-student Democrats.
