Ohio University alum Jami Bishop ’00 has been appointed magistrate in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court, according to the Youngstown Vindicator.
Bishop earned a BA in Sociology-Pre-Law with a minor in Political Science from the College of Arts & Sciences at Ohio University.
Bishop, a Barberton native, served as a magistrate for Trumbull County Probate Court Judge Thomas A. Swift for five years before her appointment.
In her new position, she handles civil cases for Judges W. Wyatt McKay and Peter Kontos of common pleas court and hears nonjury trials….
Bishop is a graduate of the University of Akron School of Law and also has a master’s degree in taxation from the same university. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Ohio University.
