The Ohio University History Department invites applications for the M.A. in History for fall 2021. Tuition scholarships are available, and the application is open through Feb. 15.
“Our nationally ranked program offers a comprehensive M.A. with both a thesis and a non-thesis track. We are especially interested in recruiting first-generation students, students from the Appalachia, and those from traditionally under-represented groups. As a response to COVID-19, we are waiving the requirement for a GRE score and have also extended our application deadline to Feb. 15,” says interim Director of Graduate Studies Dr. Paul Milazzo.
“We are also pleased to announce that we can offer tuition scholarships with the possibility of additional Teaching Assistantships and a small number of fellowships through our partnership with the Contemporary History Institute.”
Tuition Scholarships: A Graduate Recruitment Scholarship (GRS) includes a partial tuition scholarship (waiver of most of the Instructional Fee and all of the Non-resident Surcharge) and a small stipend ($975) sufficient to cover the remainder of tuition. In return, the recipient works five to six hours per week supporting the department’s mission.
Careers: The 32-credit M.A. in History is both preparation for Ph.D. programs as well as a pathway to careers in government, museum work, or policy research and advocacy.
