Joy Kostansek will discuss her thesis, titled “A Full Plate: A Case Study Analysis of Anchor Institution Investment in a Regional Food System.” She is currently a local food advocate at Local Food Connection at Creation Gardens – What Chefs Want!, a just-in-time, harvest-to-order local farm partnership program.
Mahbub Bhuyan will discuss his thesis, titled Threads of Protest and Resistance: The Impact of Social Movements on the Development of Laws Protecting Women’s Rights in Bangladesh.” He is currently a doctoral student in the Sociology Department at the University of Miami.
