Ohio University student Ian Forsythe ’20 was named the 2020 Geological Sciences Outstanding Graduating Senior as the result of a faculty vote.
The award is given to a student who not only has achieved a high GPA but also has engaged in other activities such as independent research leading to a senior thesis.
Forsythe is a graduating senior majoring in Geological Sciences with a minor in Paleontology.
Forsythe defended his senior thesis, “Species Delineation in Character Poor Specimens: Lessons from Rafinesquina,” and has presented the results of his research at professional meetings. Forsythe also received a first-place award at the 2019 Student Expo.
