Two Geography graduate students were named Outstanding Teaching Assistants in 2019-20.
Graduate student Edward Abbiw was named Outstanding Teaching Assistant by the College of Arts & Sciences at Ohio University.
“My interest is in environmental geography—investigations into effect of land-use on the decline in biodiversity and species extinctions,” Abbiw says.
Graduate student Darby Johnson was named Outstanding Teaching Assistant by the Geography Department at Ohio University.
Her research interests are in severe convective meteorology, specifically supercells and tornadoes.
“I will be studying how surface roughness and terrain influence tornado genesis and decay,” she says.
