Alumni, friends and the campus community are invited to the Women’s, Gender, & Sexuality Studies’ fifth annual Reunion & Roundtables at Homecoming on Friday, Oct. 11, from 1 to 6 p.m. in Walter 245.
The theme is “Building a Case for Belonging: Strategies for Identity-Based Advocacy and Advancement in Higher Education,” with panels on gender and sexuality in communications, healthcare, and politics, followed by a reception.
1 p.m. Keynote: Building a Case for Belonging: Strategies for Identity-Based Advocacy and Advancement in Higher Education
The afternoon begins with a welcome from Dr. Cindy Anderson, Professor of Sociology and Director of Women’s, Gender, & Sexuality Studies.
The keynote speaker is Dr. Lance Poston, Executive Director for Inclusive Health and Campus Partnerships at the University of Kentucky. Poston was a Barbara E. Allushuski Graduate Fellow in WGSS.
Dr. Julie White, Professor of Political Science, is the facilitator.
2 p.m. Gender and Sexuality in Communication | Megan in the media: Reflections on Rapinoe
The facilitator is Dr. Kim Little, WGSS Associate Professor of Instruction and Associate Director.
