Ohio University’s Office for Multicultural Student Access and Retention presents “African American Men in Higher Education, a guest lecture by alumnus Dr. Kalvin DaRonne Harvell ’99M, on Oct. 29 from 6 to 8 p.m. in Schoonover 145.
Harvell is a professor of sociology at Henry Ford College in Dearborn, Mich.
After a B.S. in Sociology from Grand Valley State University, Harvell earned his M.A. in Sociology from the College of Arts & Sciences Ohio University, Ed.S. in Educational Leadership and Administration from Oakland University, and Ph.D. in Global Leadership Studies from Indiana Institute of Technology.
Being Black in College is OMSAR’s Academic Excellence Series. OMSAR is hosting the event in collaboration with the College of Health Sciences and Professions, the Sociology & Anthropology Department, and Undergraduate Admissions.
