The College of Arts & Sciences Awards Committee selected Dr. Mirna Zakić, Associate Professor of History, as a recipient of the Dean’s Outstanding Teacher Award for 2018-19.
The news was announced during the 2019 Fall Gala of the College of Arts & Science.
The award recognizes superior classroom performance, involvement with students beyond the classroom, and involvement in departmental curriculum development. Each year, the College of Arts & Sciences accepts nominations and makes two Dean’s Outstanding Teacher Awards.
Zakić offers a range of courses on German history as well as surveys of modern European history. During 2019-20, she is teaching the following courses:
- HIST 3682 — Nazi Germany (Fall 2019)
- HIST 2220 — Europe in the 20th Century (Spring 2020)
