Jonathan Agensky, Assistant Professor of Political Science, has just published an article in the Cambridge Review of International Affairs, titled “Evangelical Globalism and the Internationalization of Sudan’s Second Civil War”. In the article, Agensky argues that “the politics of Sudan’s civil war represents a global moment in faith-based advocacy and humanitarianism, which is deeply implicated in a globalizing and globally-engaged evangelicalism”. Dr. Agensky’s research addresses intersections of religion and international political order, and the importance of non-state actors in crisis management. He has conducted field work in South Sudan, Kenya, United Kingdom and United States.
In Fall 2019, Dr. Agensky will teach POLS 4640/5640 Global Humanitarianism and POLS 6500 Seminar in International Politics. Dr. Agensky also teaches POLS 3520 International Peace; POLS 4765/5765 Diaspora, Transnationalism, and Postcolonialism; and POLS 2500 International Relations.
