English graduate student Angie Mazakis’s manuscript, I Was Waiting to See What You Would Do First, was selected as one of two finalists by Indiana Review’s Blue Light Books Prize.
Mazakis, an Ohio University alum, also has one poem each in new issues of The Iowa Review, Columbia Journal, and Washington Square Review, and two poems each in Indiana Review and Lana Turner Journal.
She holds an M.A. (’04) in English from Ohio University and is currently a doctoral student at OHIO, where she studies Creative Writing (poetry).
Mazakis’s poems have appeared in The New Republic, Boston Review, Narrative Magazine, Best New Poets, Nat. Brut, Drunken Boat, Cimarron Review, Miracle Monocle, Noö Journal, and other journals and have received prizes from New Letters, Smartish Pace, New Ohio Review, Academy of American Poets, and a Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Prize. She holds an MFA from George Mason University.
