Ohio University is accepting applications through March 15 for the Ohio University Capital Internship program, which gives students interested in government and public policy the opportunity to observe and contribute to the legislative process in Washington, D.C.

Through the Ohio University Capital Internship Program, a select cohort of OHIO students will spend fall semester as full-time interns in Washington, D.C. Previous students in this program have worked in the offices of members of Congress or with a congressional committees. Interns may take on a range of roles depending on the particular needs of the placement host.

Capital Interns will live in a common location, facilitating peer-to-peer learning. Interns on this program will receive a scholarship to participate, with the remaining cost of attendance consistent with a regular academic semester.

Eligibility Requirements to participate in the Ohio University Capital Internship Program include:

  • Junior or senior status in any major, on any OHIO campus
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • In good judicial standing

The program, co-directed by  Dr. Geoff Dabelko, Professor and Associate Dean in the Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs and  Dr. Sarah Poggione, Associate Professor and Chair of Political Science in thr College of Arts & Sciences, is administered by the University’s  Office of Global Opportunities.
