Career Corner | Gotion Seeks Summer Intern in Research and Development

Gotion is seeking applicants for a summer internship program for May-August 2019. This is a paid position.

Gotion-Ohio serves as a R&D center for Guoxuan’s global R&D network and focuses on electrolyte and materials development for large scale Li ion batteries. Gotion aims to innovate in electric vehicle technology (lithium batteries and related systems) with the goal of accelerating electrified transportation and achieving sustainable development. It continues strengthening R&D in pioneering cell technologies and electric vehicle environments, building safer, more reliable, and smarter battery management systems. Gotion aims to engage professional talents and experts to conduct cutting-edge research.

Education Requirements

• Two years’ progress in working toward a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
• Must be at least sophomore standing.

Internship Qualifications

• Ability to follow established procedures to prepare electrochemical test cells and perform battery testing.
• Ability to perform routine analyses using wet and instrumental methods.
• Ability to practice good housekeeping principles and maintain accurate record of experimental data.
• Ability to perform multitasking in an organized manner and communicate with Scientists efficiently about the progress of different tasks/experiments
• Ability to use MS office products.
• Strong integrity, with proven and demonstrated verbal and written skills in a team environment.
• Strong work ethic be highly accountable and follow laboratory safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Assembles test cells and perform cell testing to monitor electrochemical performance of these cells.
• Is willing to work with hazardous materials using proper protective equipment.
• Maintains an accurate record of experimental observations and data.
• Analyzes and processes raw materials.
• Prepares routine electrolyte solutions according to internal and external requirements.
• Performs analysis on these materials in order to confirm physical/chemical properties.
• Tracks and maintains supplies, chemicals, sample and cell part inventories and requests replacements.
• Ensures good housekeeping in laboratory and storeroom. Disposes of waste and obsolete materials according to Gotion, local, state and federal rules and regulations.  Attends all required training sessions and follow all safety precautions.
