Ohio University alum Jon Oldham ’99BS was featured in an Akronist.com story headlined “Judge Jon Oldham named 2019 presiding judge for Akron Municipal Court.”
Oldham earned a B.S. in Geography from the College of Arts & Sciences at Ohio University.
Judge Jon Oldham will serve as the administrative/presiding judge of the Akron Municipal Court for 2019, where he’ll oversee the administration, docket, and calendar, as well as the observance of the rules of superintendence and the timely reporting and termination of all cases in the court.
Each year, a group of six Akron Municipal Court Judges decides the presiding judge.
Oldham, a graduate of Walsh Jesuit High School, Ohio University, and the University of Akron School of Law, was elected to the bench in 2015. Prior to becoming a judge, he served as a law clerk working for the Summit County Prosecutor’s Office, an attorney, a visiting magistrate for the Akron Municipal Court, and magistrate to Judge Elinore Marsh Stormer in the Summit County Probate Court.
