Eating For Change: Food Matters Club Hosting Panel on Campus, Dec. 4

Food Matters Club, in collaboration with the Food Studies theme and local organization, Community Food Initiatives, is hosting a panel discussion Tuesday, Dec. 4, at 5:30 p.m. in Alden 319. Panelists will discuss how food can create a positive change in the region and why supporting regional farmers and food producers is important for the environment and the community.

Panelists include Joe Barbaree of Rural Action, Dane Salabak from the School of Applied Health Sciences and Wellness, Mary Nally from the Center for Campus and Community Engagement, Paul Tomcho of Creekside Farm, and Joy Kostansek, the Food Studies Graduate Assistant.

Food Matters Club, and the Food Studies theme, working with local organizations, strive to increase student interest in food and agriculture in the region and to engage students in thinking more deeply and critically about food in general.
