The Psychology Colloquium Series presents Elizabeth Neilson on “Understanding Gender-Based Violence and Substance Use: Affective Science to Intervention” on Tuesday, Nov. 27, at noon in Porter 102.
According to her ResearchGate profile, Neilson is currently a pre-doctoral Psychology Intern at the Michael E. Debakey VA Medical Center in Houston, Texas. She is also a doctoral student in the Department of Psychology at the University of Washington Seattle. Neilson’s research focuses on the intersection of gender-based violence, substance use, and sexual risk-taking. Neilson is particularly interested in the utilization of novel methodology to identify the individual- and event-level factors predicting sexual violence perpetration.
