The Salzburg spring semester study abroad program celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, making it one of the longest running programs at Ohio University.
Former students, program directors and instructors, and the campus community will gather on Saturday, Sept. 15, for an open house event at Gordy Hall 113 starting at 4:30, followed by the main celebration of the German Language in Salzburg, Austria at Nelson Commons at 6 p.m.Gordy
The Modern Languages Department offers the opportunity for students to study German language, and Austrian literature and culture in Salzburg, Austria. The program is open to students from all majors and colleges who are currently enrolled in German courses. The program is primarily designed for Elementary (1000 series) and Intermediate (2000 series) students, but is open as well to students at Advanced levels (3000 series and above).
In addition to attending classes taught by OHIO and local instructors, students in the program make a number of group trips to sites in Austria and Germany and take weekly field trips to significant and interesting sites throughout the city and province of Salzburg. Students also have the option to travel independently on the weekends.
