Ohio University alum Anthony Will ’04 participated in an Honor Flight at Home, described in a Columbus Dispatch story headlined “No Honor Flight, but emotions soar as veterans honored.”
Will earned a B.A. in Political Science from the College of Arts & Sciences at Ohio University. Hill is an associate attorney at Schulze, Howard & Cox, having attended Capital University Law School.
Marine Cpl. Anthony Will, of Marysville, agreed. He told the crowd how, as a 23-year-old college student at Ohio University in Athens back in 2004, he wondered what would be next for him after graduation.
He decided to enlist.
He choked up as he spoke directly to the veterans of that decision, and why he made it. He ticked off a long list of war battles of those who served before him: the Battle of the Bulge, Chosin, Normandy, Tripoli, Khe Sanh, Belleau Wood and so many more.
“It was you, gentlemen. My freedom was won and secured and protected by your courage, your bravery and your honor. The cost of my freedom was paid in your blood, your sweat and your sacrifice,” he said. “You, gentlemen, not only answered the nation’s call in a time of need. You set the example.”
