The latest installment of a new reading series, Spoken & Heard: Poetry of Departure and Relevance, will take place on May 24 at The Dairy Barn Arts Center in Athens.
Thursday’s reading will feature Columbus-area poet Scott Woods; opening for Woods is local writer Ivars Balkits.
Woods is the author of Prince and Little Weird Black Boy Gods (2017), Urban Contemporary History Month (2016), and We Over Here Now (2013).
Balkits has published prose and poetry in a variety of journals and anthologies, in addition to authoring a full-length play examining nineteenth-century industrial labor unions.
