Dr. Sarah Wyatt, Professor of Environmental & Plant Biology, and two students helped staff the American Society of Plant Biologists booth at the USA Science & Engineering Festival April 7-8 in Washington, D.C.
The festival is the nation’s largest celebration of STEM, with more than 350,000 attendees.
At the ASPB booth, graduate student Alexander Meyers and undergraduate Ava Heller helped children create more than 2,000 garden cup necklaces, planted with seedlings and growing instructions. They also talked with students about why plants matter.
Wyatt is currently chair of the Education Committee for ASPB.
