The Food Studies theme presents the first veggie sale of the spring season on Friday, April 27, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Plant Biology Learning Gardens on W. State St.
The season is starting later than usual this year because of the cold and variable recent weather. However, lots of greens, greens, and more greens are available now.
A market also is planned for Tuesday, May 1, from noon to 3 p.m. outside the Atrium in Grover.
Proceeds from the sale help to fund summer internships for Ohio University students interested in learning about local food systems.
This week’s garden harvest:
- spinach
- lettuce (romaine, butterball, red leaf, and loose leaf lettuce)
- baby kale
- swiss chard
- beet greens
- mustard greens
- arugula
- bok choy
For more information or if you can’t make either sale and would like to arrange another time to order, contact Kelsey Bryant at kb578415@ohio.edu.
