What hobbies do you enjoy in your spare time?
During my spare time, I enjoy cycling relatively long distances (about 40–60 miles), playing racquetball, and going on hikes at Sells Park/Strouds Run and Hocking Hills. I am also an avid hockey fan and when I have time in my schedule, I play ice hockey.
Who inspires you?
I am inspired by all of the people and families who have immigrated to the United States to start a new life with the opportunities which the U.S. offers. This is especially inspiring to me because my mother’s family emigrated from Finland to the U.S. when she was a child, and my father emigrated from Finland to the U.S. in his 20s. Both of their stories include hardship and life experiences, which can only be described as inspiring.
What is your favorite thing about being an eCampus instructor?
My favorite thing about being an online instructor is the variety of locations from which my students may be studying, as well as the flexibility to teach from anywhere in the world. For example, one semester I had a student who was in Israel while they were taking my course. I also have been able to travel across the country without any hindrance to my course.
