OPIE Graduation: Celebrating our Graduates
Welcome to Week 8 of The OPIE Zone Newsletter. Here the important events happening during the eighth week of the semester. We hope you’ll join us for some of them.
International Conversation Hour
Tuesday, March 6, from 6-7 p.m. in Jefferson Hall, Room 160
International students and domestic students meet to talk about various topics. This is a good opportunity to make friends and meet people from all over the world. Free beverages and snacks are provided. See the schedule for the whole semester.
OPIE Lecture: Bystander Intervention Training
Where & When: Wednesday, March 7, Jefferson Hall 160 from 2-3 p.m.
Trent Hoge, a Peer Health Educator from the Campus Involvement Center, will conduct a training on how to notice when something inappropriate or dangerous is happening on campus. He will show participants strategies for safely intervening to help other people. Hoge will also talk about Title IX. Title IX is a rule that protects students from sexual violence and discrimination.
*Required for male Intermediate and Advanced level students
OPIE Bowling Night
Friday, March 9, Rollerbowl Lanes (28 Palmer St.) from 6 – 8 p.m.
All OPIE students, OPIE faculty, OPIE alumni and friends are invited to the Bowling Night.
