The Mathematical Biology and Dynamical Systems takes a break for the Mathematics Department’s annual Pi-day student poster presentation on March 20 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30p.m. in Morton 325.
Pizza will be served at noon, and several of the posters will feature research on dynamical systems/math biology.
“Note that due to our spring break, a new date for Pi-day was obtained by applying a suitable iteration sigma^t of the shift operator to the digits of Pi,” notes Dr. Winfried Just, Professor of Mathematics. “Here is the quiz: What is the smallest value of t that gives us the new date?”
