The Center for Law, Justice & Culture is accepting applications for two program assistants for the Summer Law & Trial Institute in July 2018.
The application deadline for the positions is April 25. This is a paid position for the duration of the program.
The Summer Law & Trial Institute is a 13-day immersive residential program high school students from Southeast Ohio that aims to increase their understanding of the law and its possibilities. The program also seeks to foster an interest in all aspects of legal education, service, and issues and to create the next generation of legal, advocacy, and community professionals.
Each program assistant position will:
- Be assigned a group of nine institute participants.
- Serve as undergraduate mentors to high school students.
- Assist in daily program operations and facilitation of program.
- Serve as first point of contact of students.
- Assist in mock trial preparation and organization.
- Reside in Ohio University residence halls throughout the program.
Program Assistants will work closely with CLJC Pre-Law Specialist Larry Hayman as well as with other attorneys and judges and will have the opportunity to participate in site observations, including to the Supreme Court of Ohio and ACLU of Ohio.
