Dr. Sung-Yoon Lee of Tufts University gives a public lecture on “Containing Kim Jong Un: Five Myths About North Korea” on Feb. 13 at 6:30 p.m. in Bentley Hall 306.
The lecture is hosted by the War and Peace theme, Asian Studies at the Center for International Studies, and the Contemporary History Institute.
Lee is the Kim Koo-Korea Foundation Professor of Korean Studies at the Fletcher School at Tufts University. He has testified as an expert witness in congressional hearings and advised senior officials, including the President of the United States.
His essays have been published in the Los Angeles Times, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Asia Times, The Weekly Standard, Christian Science Monitor and Far Eastern Economic Review. A frequent commentator on Korean affairs, Lee has appeared on BBC, NPR, PBS, CNN, ABC, NBC and CBC among others, and has testified as an expert witness at the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Foreign Affairs hearing on North Korea policy.
