Ohio University alum James Rogers ’81 is director of Food Safety Research and Testing at Consumer Reports.
Rogers earned a B.S. in Microbiology from the College of Arts & Sciences at OHIO. He earned a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan.
Prior to joining Consumer Reports, Rogers had several roles in the U.S. Department of Agriculture, including serving as a designated federal official with the National Advisory Committee for the Microbiological Criteria for Foods, which provides scientific advice to federal agencies to use in developing integrated food safety systems from farm to table and to ensure food safety in domestic and imported foods, says his LinkedIn profile.
He was also as a microbiologist for the U.S. Army, serving as an advisor in bioterrorism agents for various domestic preparedness initiatives.
