The College of Arts & Sciences mourns the loss of coworker and alum Todd Dunbebin ’92, who passed away on Jan. 18.
“I have yet to meet a single person who knew Todd that didn’t love him. His loss is acutely felt throughout the entire community. Godspeed,” said Michael Tedesco, who like Dunbebin is an IT Support Specialist in the college.
‘I think I was the person at the university who worked with Todd the longest,” said Tom Baker, IT Support Manager. “He was knowledgeable, passionate, persistent and very resourceful. He always found a way to make things right. He was a great friend who is sorely missed already. ”
“Through this last couple of weeks, I also learned that he has an amazing group of friends. They are planning a memorial gathering at The Union (upstairs) on Sunday, Jan. 28 from 2-5 p.m.”
Dunbebin had worked at Ohio University in IT roles since 2010. He worked on the service desk and also did field work before becoming part of the College of Arts & Sciences IT team. He previously worked at the Corporation for Ohio Appalachian Development and Net Enterprises Inc.
“Todd he was a part of my work family,” said Sharell Arocho. “He was always super nice to me, and he never failed to make me laugh when I was in his presence. His family and friends are in my thoughts and prayers during this time of sadness.”
“Todd was always very helpful, going out of his way to accommodate others in our work tasks,” said Aaron Cotner, IT Support Specialist. “Todd was always light-hearted, usually providing the one liners from the back of the room. He was a great team member and an easy person to trust. My condolences to the family and friends for the loss.”
Dunbebin also was a student at OHIO, having studied English literature. And he was known by many as Rev. Dunbebin, having conducted many marriage ceremonies.
